As you know February is Black History month. In the Coming weeks I thought it would be interesting to come up with a series of artwork depicting "Influential Black Musicians." Here's a picture I made back in 07' of James Marshall Hendrix also known as "Jimi Hendrix". This 60's Legend was ahead of his time and there's hardly a Guitarist today that isn't influenced by his Legendary Skill.

The Big Game was as Epic as expected Eli Manning Drove his team late in the 4th quarter and Ahmad Bradshaw backed into the End-zone with just under a minute left. Tom Brady completed a 4th and 16 to extend the game and then with five seconds left threw a Hail Mary into the endzone that was just incomplete as time expired and the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 in a game that went down to the last tick of the game clock.

If you play Fantasy Football you know that Wes Welker of the New England Patriots is a Reception Machine. In reality he is one of Tom Brady's favorite weapons to target.
If Wes gets going he causes a lot of problems with his yards after catch and Big Play potential. Patriots fans say the secret of his success is in his mustache which he hasn't shaven since the playoffs began.

In this picture Wes is curling his mustache in a touchdown dance choreographed by Patriot fan "Jeremy Weiner". Will wearing the "Stache" keep Wes and the Patriots undefeated or will the Giants repeat their 2008 run. The "Big Game" kicks off Sunday February 5, 2012 at 6:30pm EST on NBC.

This Sunday ended with two exciting finishes in the Championship games. The Baltimore Ravens missed a 32yd field goal wide left and the Patriots won 23-20. The San Francisco 49ers Kyle Williams committed two costly turnovers the second in overtime, to set up the Giants to win 20-17 with a 31yard field goal.

This year's Big Game is a rematch of the 2007-2008 season. Eli Manning of the New York Giants took on Tom Brady and the undefeated New England Patriots and brought his team back to win 17-14. Despite being underdogs Eli Manning and the New York Giants came into Lambeau Field and shocked Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in what seemed like deja vu from 2007 defeating them 37-20. This Sunday Eli Manning goes up against Alex Smith in the Championship game for the right to represent the NFC on Super Sunday. This week capped off a great start to the NFL post-season. Wild card weekend (emphasis on Wild) ended in a wild finish, at Mile High Stadium in Denver. After trailing most of the game Ben Roethlisberger brought his team back with a 4th quarter touchdown to Jerricho Cotchery to tie the game at 23. Then Tim Tebow and Denver Broncos turned Overtime into "Tebow Time" with a 80 yard strike to Demariyus Thomas to win the game 29-23! Making the Pittsburgh Steelers another statistic. Big Ben got Tebow'd.

Green Wave concept

2011 AFC Championship Sanchez Vs. Rothlisberger

This week the AFC Championship features another exciting match-up. Second year QB Mark Sanchez, of the New York Jets is up against Veteran QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ben Rothlisberger.

After exciting wins last week by The Jets against the Patriots and the Steelers over the Ravens; these two Defensive Juggernauts are the only teams that stand in each others way to represent the AFC in Dallas.

Just like the NFC Championship the AFC Championship is also a post season rematch. In week 15 the Jets defeated the Steelers in Pittsburgh 22-17.

Will the Jets continue on the path to the Superbowl or will the Steelers once again make another appearance. If you want to find out the game will be in Pittsburgh Sun @6:30pm on CBS.

2011 NFC Championship Rodgers Vs. Cutler

For those of you who've enjoyed the past weeks football games and Art work I thought I'd post a little treat. In honor of The NFC Championship which is tomorrow Sunday at 3:00pm on FOX, I've colored the winners of last weeks match-ups.

This week the NFC Championship game features Aaron Rodgers QB of the Green Bay Packers and Jay Cutler QB of the Chicago Bears. What makes this match-up really interesting is in Week 17 of the Regular Season The Chicago Bears had a chance to knock out their Division rivals the Packers out of the playoffs, but failed to do so.

Now the two teams must meet again this time in Chicago to see who will Represent the NFC in the Superbowl.

I haven't posted in a while or finished the Keri Washington painting yet, (which will still be posted on completion) but until then I have a few things I've been working on I wanted to share.

Kerry Washington

This is my latest painting which is of Kerry Washington. I saw a commercial for David Mamet's Broadway Play Race and I decided it would be interesting painting Kerry Washington in a red Sequin Dress. I'm still working on it but I think so far my attempt of rendering sequins came out pretty decent. This is still a work in progress, The finished painting is coming soon.

Glow in the Dark Tee's

These are the latest T-shirts I made for a Glow in the Dark Party I went to. All of the shirts were made in neon colors so they would glow under a black light.

The first Tee shirt is a flip of the Back to the Future Logo. I was born the year the movie came out so I decided to add the years 1985 and 2010 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this 80's classic.

If you remember watching Nickelodeon back in the day (90's) you'll remember "Are you Afraid of the Dark" the 2nd Tee is a little bit of nostalgia.

The 3rd and last of the Tees is a Flip of the "Are You Afraid of the Dark" logo, I put in the light switch to add a little creative twist to it.

You saw the Digital prototype but here is the actual Jerseys I made a few changes. Instead of black and Carolina Blue the Jerseys are Navy blue and Carolina blue and I modified the logo a bit. Overall though, I think they came out great!

Shore Legends

I created this logo for our basketball team. We needed uniforms for a tournament this past Saturday and I came up with the design for the uniforms. After brainstorming we came up with the name Shore Legends. When I was designing the logo I was thinking of something like Excalibur or something like that, so I came up with a simple sword as the logo.

Wedding Mosaic

My cousin Ana just got married this past Friday April 10th.

At her wedding reception as decorations different family members donated pieces of art. Ana's mom (my Aunt) had asked me to make a piece of art to display at the wedding. I've always thought photo mosaics were cool and wondered how they were done.

The idea I came up with was to create a photo mosaic made up of the people who were special to them. So I asked her to collect different pictures of relatives from both sides of the family. The original picture the mosaic is based on was taken by Ana's grandfather (who is a photographer ) shortly after their engagement.

This piece is made up of over a thousand pictures of family members and friends of the bride and groom.

When the mosaic part was completed I saw it was missing something. So instead of leaving it as a regular mosaic, I decided to add detail back into their faces and hands and gave the picture a hand painted look.

This is what I came up with, I hope you enjoy.

Although I will not be in it this year, I was commissioned to design the Poster to promote the 11th annual "Art in the Park" outdoor Art show which is held every summer at West End Park in Long Branch New Jersey. The poster measures 18 x 24 and will be up soon, all around Monmouth and Ocean County to promote the Show. If you're in the area come check out the Show!

This is a logo I designed for my Fantasy Football Team The "Long Branch Megalodons".
What is a Megalodon you may ask... It's An ancient Shark which is extinct(Thankfully). It was the biggest meat-eating fish that ever lived and was about 50 feet long. Wouldn't want to be in the water with that big fish.
